Decision Made

We've made a decision and finances played a MAJOR factor in our deciding on the next step. We have decided to go ahead and transfer Embie #2 and hope for the very best.

I spoke to someone at our doctor's office this morning and we would receive a discount for the next round but it would still cost us a lot of money out-of-pocket. Unfortunately, our pockets just aren't that deep. I think the worst part of making this decision was when I said something to the person at the doctor's ofifce about it being cost prohibitive and her reply was "Well, can't you finance it? Do you have the information about the financing companies? You could just finance what you would owe our office and then pay for the testing and medications."

We are both comfortable with our decision and going to stay positive as possible.

  1. I think that is a great decision. I hate the fact that money plays so much of a contributing factor when making these decisions. I would love to be able to go forth with as many ivf's needed to get pregnant, but that isn't a choice. I am excited to see how your upcoming cycle goes! Good luck :)

  2. Sorry that your office wasn't that thoughtful when they spoke with you. Of course you made a great decision because it is the one that y'all felt was best for you! I'm rooting for you and am sending lots of vibes your way!!

    1. Thanks so much! My husband and I kinda laughed over her reaction of "Can't you just finance it?" Does she think if we finance it that we aren't paying as much or something? Just a really odd reaction.

  3. I am feeling SUPER positive on your behalf. Super-duper. Stork is firmly on team KelBel.

  4. Oh my goodness. I can't believe they throw the financing out there like it's nothing. Hello, you still will need to pay it back eventually! I hate the money side of this. As if it wasn't stressful enough.

    1. I have to say J and I laughed a couple of times about it last night. It almost felt like she thought she was waving a magic wand when she said "Oh, can't you fincance it?" It was even more strange when I got the email today and they would throw in 15 vials of Bravelle for free.

  5. Ergh. The reason it took us so long to do IVF is that we wanted to have the cash to pay for it. (And then Al lost his job and was unemployed for a year, so probably a good decision. Although my eggs might have been younger and better...) I hate when people act like financing is a great solution. It sucks either way.
