The magic number is 3!!

I just received the call from our nurse...my hcg level is now at 3 and I am done with blood draws! YAY! My arm can finally take a break from being poked. I am really hoping this is going to help me heal a bit more. It's been really hard to go in so often to have my blood drawn...it's been 4 weeks since we learned that we lost Fred and I am ready for the physical side of all of this to be done. I am so glad I found a therapist that I feel like I connect with. I am going back again on Monday, I was lucky enough to be fit into a slot where someone cancelled.

I don't know what's next for us, so things may get a little quiet around here. Maybe I'll give you some posts on our life here in San Antonio or something else non-IF.

  1. This is good news, but I also know it is bitter-sweet. Wrapping you in hugs.

  2. I'm glad you won't have to go for any more blood draws. I called it the human pincushion phase. Not at all a satisfying consolation prize, I know. I hope the therapy is helpful - here to listen if there's anything at all you want to vent about.

    1. Thank you very much :) It's pretty weird to see all the tiny scars on my arm from all the blood draws...definitely feel like a pin cushion!

  3. Yaaaay! I know how awful it is still having to go through all those blood draws when you already know its over.

Thinking super duper wonderful KelBel thoughts.

And blog about anything! Just keep blogging. Lawdy knows I need a break from reading about IF, on occasion. ;)

  5. Definitely a bittersweet moment. I was so happy to have my levels finally down, but also sad at the same time. I hope that you are able to decide where to go from here.

    1. It really is...it's just so different than the other losses when I was with my regular OB/Gyn.

  6. I agree with Stork, write about whatever inspires you. I love to know other sides to my bloggy friends. Hobbies, house stuff, pets, you name it, I will read about it.

Yes, please, blog about whatever you like! I for one would love to see some pictures of sunny San Antonio since I'm currently living in snowy darkness.

  9. As much as I wish your levels didn't have to descend, I'm glad for you that this part is over. My second-to-last blood draw was 3, too - but they made me go back a week later so that I could get a big fat 0! The only reason I actually went is because I was hoping I'd be at the beginning a new pregnancy that might show up during the test (ha ha yeah right).

    1. I am only admitting it because you said it - there is this teeny tiny bit of me that was wondering that as well. I am doing my best not to let Hope in, though!
